Easy Trails

 Jones Pass - Continental Divide (12,453 ft)
Jones Pass is an easy 4-wheeling offroad trail just 10 minutes outside of Empire, Colorado. This trail offers impressive views of alpine tundra on the top of the Continental Divide. This is a short very enjoyable trip for beginners. There is a Great hiking trail along the continental divide. 2 Hour Ride. Click Here for more Details and Map.


Moderate Trails

 Saxon Mountain (Lamartine and Molly Brown Mine) - 11,546ft
The Saxon Mountain/Lamartine Loop is a Mix of Easy and Moderate off road ATV trails. The Lamartine Site is an old ghost town from the 1890's which was a very productive mining community. The Molly Brown mine and cabin is another attraction on the loop. This trail which begins 6 miles outside of Idaho Springs on CR 103 offers the most mining history of our guided ATV Tours. From the top of Saxon Mountain (Anglo Saxon Mine) you get panoramic views of the Continental Divide, the town of Georgetown and Empire, Mount Evans (which has the highest paved road in North America up to 14,200 ft!), and other 14ers.  Kingston Peak/Yankee Hill (St Mary's Clacier) - 11,500ft
WOW! This ATV/4-wheeling trail is the most impressive of our tours if you are into panoramic Views. You will see St. Mary's Glacier from the top of Yankee Hill, which also offers a 180 degree view of the Continental Divide, Mt Evans, and parts of Denver, Colorado. The loop around the backside of Kingston Peak offers a wide open view of Boulder and the Front Range, as well as views of Longs Peak and the Rocky Mountain National Park. The trail winds up and clost to the continental divide at the bottom of James Peak with view of waterfalls, and a large manmade rock formation called the "Rockpile" where all visitors put a rock and sign the quest book. From the Rockpile you can view Georgetown and several high alpine lakes including Lock Lomen. This trail begins about 10 miles away from Idaho Springs, Colorado just outside of Alice. The Yankee Hill side is best for 2 hours, while the Kingston Peak loop is worth the 3 or 4 hour trip to enjoy the scenery.2 Hour, 1/2 Day. Click Here for more Details and Map.


Difficult Trails

 Bill Moore Lake/Empire Loop - 11,500ft
This trail begins just outside of Empire, Colorado about 15 minutes from Idaho Springs, CO. This is a Difficult and bumpy route to the Bill Moore alpine lake. The lake is right at the bottom of the Continental divide nestled in large bowls offering amazing solidute and serenity. The rest of the loop offers remains of the Conqueror Mine (which was very prolific in the 1880s through 1900), old cabins, and the "Empire Hilton" which is an functioning cabin that visitors can rest in while on the trail.
