The Saxon Mountain Trail is a network of old mining roads with significant mining history. Evidence of the past abounds although not always very visibile. The East portion of this trail goes past the very productive Lamartine Mine and other mines. The west portion of the trail is a loop that takes you to Saxon Mountain at 11,546ft above sea level and along the way you will pass the Molly Brown Mine, and cabins. This trail system is pretty bumpy and rocky, with some difficult portions, but great on an ATV with full independent suspension!
