This Guided ATV tour from Rocky Mountain Quad Squad is a more Difficult route to Bill Moore alpine lake. It begins just outside of Empire, CO and features the remains of Conqueror Mine, various old cabins, and the "Empire Hilton" which is a functioning cabin on the trail for those needing shelting in the journey. 1/2 day.
This trail up to Bill Moore alpine lake is mostly difficult with rocky terrain, but very fun with stream crossings and several old cabins.
One of the old cabins on the Empire loop portion of the trail is called the "Empire Hilton" and is a functioning cabin with bare amenities for shelter and warmth.
The main trail going up Bill Moore Lake can be a 1/2 day venture. Adding the empire loop and stopping to look at the cabins will make a day ATV tour of it.
